2. January 26 is National Green Juice Day ( I guess it's true everything really does have it's day). Do you juice, as in make your own in an attempt to get healthy? Do you do the green juices? What's your favorite kind of juice (home blended or store bought, either one)?
I don't juice and don't do the green juices. I don't drink very much juice, actually, but I do like the V8 Splash with the fruit juices.
3. What's something trivial about which you have a strong opinion?
How much time do you have? Okay, I'll try to narrow it down to one thing. People clapping after Mass. We are very fortunate to have a good music department for 2 of the Masses. If people want to show their appreciation, donate money to the department, write a thank you note, or just tell us thank you. It's not a performance; we are praying through our music. Just because Mass is over doesn't mean the reverence to the sanctuary shouldn't be there.
4. What do you need more of in your life? Less of?
I can't think of anything that I need more of at this time. It would be nice to have less anxiousness about the boys. Does that ever end?
5. Give us three adjectives to describe your January.
Frigid, calm, prayerful
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I am a self-professed genius. I had my back porch covered last spring so this is the first winter that I've had it. It's great because the dogs can get back onto the porch after they've done their business. It's not great because they can't get out without me letting them out. With such frigid temperatures last week, I came up with a plan. I tied a string to the screen door handle and put the other side just inside the house. When they want to go out, I open the sliding glass door, pull on the string, and they can go out without me getting onto the porch. I wasn't sure how Gurl Dogg would do with it; sometimes she can be a little skittish. But it worked like a charm!
Hi Mary, what a fun way to let the dogs out. We had NEGATIVE 25 degrees last Tuesday. I have a dog too, his name is Ernie. We had to venture out. I think he thought his potty would freeze.. he hurried so fast to do his business.
ReplyDeleteHee Hee!
I would agree with you about the clapping at Mass.
Carla
I find it awkward sometimes after beautiful music in church to know if there should be clapping. I think sometimes it's just spontaneous because people are so moved. But I agree if we think of it as prayer then clapping isn't necessarily appropriate. Clever dog hack! About your boys-I think that's one thing we don't think of when they're young. We are under the illusion they will reach some magical age and we will no longer worry about them. Wait til there are grandkids! Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt isn’t until I read others answer that I remember the trivial but then again, are they pet peeves? You reminded me about church - when worship turns into entertainment and people clap - It bugs me so I guess it’s just a pet peeve!
