I missed the Hodgepodge while I was gone. Okay, not really, but I did think about it one Wednesday! Here are this week's questions:
1. Summertime is a season of reunions, weddings, and other family celebrations and gatherings...are any of the above on your calendar in the next two months?
My brother & his wife usually have a get-together at their house on the 4th. We'll be going there. Other than that, I've got nothing. My summer is over 25 July when I go back to work.
2. June is National Iced Tea Month...are you an iced tea drinker? If so, how do you like yours (sweet, flavored, etc)?
I like iced tea, but it doesn't like me! (TMI???) When I drink it, it's definitely sweet. I do like the Lipton Berry Flavored Green Tea in a bottle.
3. When were you last nervous? Looking back, was the 'event' actually nerve-worthy?
Friday, when I was going through customs without a boarding pass to get home from DC. Since I wasn't asked for it, it wasn't nerve worthy at all.
4. The bristle toothbrush was invented in China on June 26, 1498...not sure how that date was pinned down so precisely but, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being sick to your stomach and 1 being not at all, how nervous do you feel when you're headed to the dentist? Do you see your dentist twice a year?
I see my dentist twice a year for cleaning. I don't mind going at all. The hygienist & I have a good time talking, catching up, and laughing.
5. What's making news in your town this week?
I had to look at the paper online since I have no idea what's going on. A section of the Foothills Parkway, which has been under construction since 1944, has just been completed. According to our local paper, the road is suppose to be 72 miles long, but only 22.5 miles are open to the public. They still have 5 bridges to build.
6. Curtains, drapes, blinds...your window treatment of choice? Are there any bare windows in your house? Is that by choice or because you haven't gotten around to covering them?
Blinds. We have blinds in every window...no curtains. I'm just not a curtains kind of person: I have no idea what kind to get or what will look good, so I just stick with blinds!
7. Summertime is officially here (in the Northern hemisphere anyway)...whatone song is a must-have on your summer playlist?
Saturday in the Park
Or, anything by the Beach Boys.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I made some headway on the pictures last night. I went through the pictures from Germany/Austria that were on my phone. I still have to go through the pictures that were on my camera, but I feel like I got something accomplished!

July 25th??!! That's the middle of summer here! The kids are still in school here until Friday which is also crazy, but due to all the missed days from Hurricaine Sandy. Good luck with your pictures-that part is always a little overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to see your sister at hubs reunion : )
love that song!
ReplyDeleteRosemary
So far at least 4 of us have mentioned the Beach Boys.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Just reading about your nervous experience makes me nervous...airports in general make me stressed. Nothing ever goes as planned when an airport is involved! Great song! Makes me want to sit outside and soak up the sun :)
ReplyDeletecongrats on the photo work...I know how time consuming it can be!!
ReplyDeleteAs for the song...excellent choice. And Beach Boys...I remember, long ago, they had an outdoor concert where we lived, and we lived MILES away, but could still hear it all when we sat outdoors!!
Foothills Parkway under construction since 1944? That must be some kind of record!
ReplyDeleteWow ... July 25 seems awfully early to be going back to school. :-(
I love that song! Funny how different parts of the country have different summer vacations. I am just getting into summer mode :)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many great summer songs. Good luck sorting through the photos from your trip. I know how that goes! I will be anxious to see them. :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI guess that your area takes its time with construction projects--no sense in rushing things! I have drapes in my front bedrooms only because they face the street and are on the hot side of the house. I will be looking forward to seeing your pics.
ReplyDeleteOh geez... I can't believe I didn't think of the Beach Boys! And I'm a California girl... and I just MOVED back to California! I'm so ashamed... :-)
ReplyDeleteGoing through vacation pictures is a job in itself, isn't it !

ReplyDeleteGood work on pics - can't wait to hear more about your trip!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, July 25th! That means your summer is already half over :(
ReplyDeleteGood luck with finishing up with your pictures!
oh man the DC airports are a nightmare, i hated it when they pulled all my personal items out of my purse and showed the whole world! That was the Ronald Reagan airport, however i honestly can't blame them!
ReplyDeleteI love Chicago. Saturday in the Park is one of my favorites. All big city airports can be a nightmare...espcially if they are internationals. I am glad you are home safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteAnother Beach Boys fan here! And I thought my summer was cut short by going back to work the first week of August...I think you have me beat! :)
ReplyDeleteIt seems you had a great time in Europe. I am excited to see your pictures!
ReplyDeleteSaturday in the Park...brings back great childhood memories for me.
ReplyDeleteWhere were you in Germany/Austria? I hope you enjoyed your trip.
