Every Saturday, Amy gives us the chance to share some fellowship by way of songs that are on our hearts. To participate, or to check out some songs, click here.
I think Stephen Curtis Chapman is one of the greatest songwriters of our time. His songs reach into your soul and yank at your heart. I watched this clip last night after I got home from Stations of the Cross...talk about incredibly moving.
You're invited to visit Amy and see what other songs are in people's hearts on this Saturday.
I heard this song a couple of weeks ago. It was so new that there wasn't anything on youtube about it, except for a clip of the singer talking about the origins of the song. It is just beautiful.
Last night my biggest brother's band played at a local grill. They were outside, the weather was nice, and they sounded awesome. His wife and youngest son and his wife were there, as were my other big brother and his wife. I went with my football friend (FF); we had a good time. Here's a picture of the band: Faded Blues (excuse the quality...I have a really cheap camera that doesn't take the best pictures under light):
My brother is the one in the white t-shirt...pretty sexy legs, huh? (LOL!) He's a great guy, a terrific big brother, and has a great sense of humor. My sister-in-law is quite the saint for putting up with him! Before I took this picture, this is the picture that was taken:
FF & I just laughed about that! I was taking a picture of the band with the "Night Scene" option. The camera flashed, so I put it down, and then it flashed again!
It's time for another Then Sings My Soul Saturday hosted by Signs, Miracles, and Wonders. I absolutely love this song by Stephen Curtis Chapman; I love the orchestra playing. It's one of those songs that gets stuck in your head and puts a skip in your step. Hope you enjoy it!
The song I chose for this week is "God is In Control" by Twila Paris. OS called on Thursday night and was a little down. We all go through times in our lives when things aren't going the way we had hoped or we want them to. It's really hard when it's one of your babies going through the hard times, and it's really hard to sit back and let everything work out without trying to take control of the situation. I admit it: I'm a control freak. Having kids has been a very humbling experience, because I have boys and you can't control their lives. Friday morning I got in the car to go to work, and this song came on. I had to chuckle and thank God for the reminder! It's been years since I last heard it. If you haven't ever heard it, I hope you enjoy it. If you have heard it before, I hope it's a reminder!
