It's Wednesday, so it's time for the Wednesday Hodgepodge, sponsored by Joyce. Want to join in? Click on the above button, copy & paste the questions, answer, then link up! It's that easy!
1. Share a favorite song lyric.
"Sometimes the very thing you're looking for
Is the one thing you can't see"
from "Save the Best for Last", sung by Vanessa Williams
I better not see 'I can't think of one' on anybody's paper. That's an automatic F in the Wednesday Hodgepodge you know.
2. When was the last time someone yelled at you?
Honestly, I can't remember. CH isn't a "yeller" (we balance each other out!), and I've always tried to avoid doing anything to make someone yell at me!
3. Money, fame, happiness...are they mutually exclusive?
I don't think so. I think it's possible to have all three, as long as the person who has them keeps his/her head on straight.
4. What is your favorite dish to prepare for family and friends that doesn't require turning on the stove, oven or an outdoor grill?
Chicken salad. This one is really easy: chicken, cream cheese, grapes, pineapple, almonds. Mix together and put on a croissant or other bread, and you're good to go!
5. The first week of August is National Simplify Your Life Week. What is one thing you could do this week to simplify your life? Will you do it?
Being the simpleton I am, I've trimmed my life to be pretty darned simple!
6. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being 100% and 1 being not at all) how tuned in are you to your country's national political scene?
I would say about a 6. I get so disgusted with politics, it's better "simplify my life" and just refuse to listen to it!
7. What are your final parting words to the month of July?
SO LONG!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
The "Uninvited Guest" is outta here! This morning, I opened the pantry and saw him scurry. I moved the sticky trap to the upper left corner (this is the side of the pantry where there isn't any food), and about 5 minutes later, I heard him moving the trap. When I looked, he was under the trap; he had flipped it over. I got the broom (thinking I would just knock him out since he was already stuck), but when I hit the trap, it just flipped it back over. Hmmmm...what to do? I did what any wife would do: I woke up CH and got him to dispose of it. Hopefully he was the only one!
I am afraid not to listen and not be filled in because our voices together mean something My grandmother taught me this value and I still cherish it come see me at http://shopannies.blogspot.com see how I answered
ReplyDeleteI would have done the same thing with the uninvited guest. I can handle alot but I'm assuming we're talking about a rat. Reminds me of my oldest daughter having one in her kitchen. She did the same thing got it on a sticky trap. But she went outside and got the shovel and threw him outside, thinking the cat would get him. But when she tossed him he hit a tree and him and the sticky trap stuck to it. And there it stayed until her husband got home and threw it all away.
ReplyDeleteThat chicken salad sounds yummy! Well, except for the almonds (not a nut eater). I'm going to have to give that a try.
ReplyDeleteYour making me hungry with that chicken salad. Yum!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your `Uninvited Guest` is gone. Yes, hopefully he is the only one.
That chicken salad sounds DELISH! I'm going to fix some chicken tonight for dinner ... I'm hoping for some leftover chicken so I can make chicken salad for tomorrow! ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad your uninvited guest is gone ... and let that serve as a warning to any other critters who think they can come help themselves to your chocolate! ;-)
You did more than I would have done : ) I am not a fan of rodents. At all!
ReplyDeleteLove the song lyric!
I used to LOVE chicken salad...but ever since I got food poisoning that one time...nope...just can't do it. Bummer...it sounds good in my head. Maybe I should try again. Glad to hear Stickey Mouse is gone!
ReplyDeleteLOL Did Bobbi get sick off of your chicken salad or just chicken salad?!
ReplyDeleteYour chicken salad sounds yummy. Okay I'm jealous, I want simple!
ReplyDeleteI was about to say "why are you getting the visiter out" but then I continued to read that you got CH.
Glad your critter is out of there!
ReplyDeleteThat chicken salad sounds yummy!
Okay I want to know more about this chicken salad! How much cream cheese! One package? I'm thinkin' I would really like Chicken salad made with cream cheese. I've never heard of that!
ReplyDeleteI use 1 package of cream cheese. I eyeball the chicken, grapes, & almonds. Sometimes I use the Perdue Short Cut Chicken, or I'll use leftover chicken. The recipe calls for pineapple tidbits; I use 1/2 of a 15 oz can. Soften the cream cheese (of course!), throw everything else in, and voila! Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you - my goal is not to do anything that would give someone a reason to yell at me!
ReplyDeleteYour chicken salad sounds awesome!!
I sure would like to have some of that chicken salad. Sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI hate "uninvited guests" :/ Glad he is gone!
ReplyDeleteYour chicken salad sounds divine! Glad your four-legged 'friend' is gone!

ReplyDeleteVanessa Williams has a beautiful voice- great song. Your chicken salad sounds delicious. The only way I've had it is with mayo and celery.
