The Best Laid Plans

My plans for this weekend included drinking lots of coffee/tea, watching movies, reading, and napping. CH went camping & I had the whole house to myself (except when YS was here). I had visions of napping when I wanted while laying on the couch watching tv/movies & reading. BUT...
Pepper had an appointment Sat. morning first thing (8:00) for shots. When I went into the pantry, I found signs that we had an uninvited visitor. Just.Great. Here's the result of my Saturday morning:
I put everything in plastic storage containers, labeled some things (yep, just a tad OCD), and got rid of a lot of stuff. The other side is just as organized, with the dog food in a container as well. I did manage to read the rest of The High Priest's Daughter by Katie Cross. I can't wait for the next book...I love the Network Series!
Sunday morning was Mass. When I got home, I looked in the room that used to be CH's "office", and it was a complete mess. I cleaned up and organized the room.
I also cleaned the living room floor. Oh, and I watched the rest of Mozart in the Jungle. The season ended kind of weird...I didn't think it was the end. Now I have to wait for the new season.
It's a long weekend, so I'll have today to be lazy and to just relax. This has been a good weekend; it's been just what I needed, when I needed it. Some snow days would be good, but for now, I'll take the 3 day weekend!

  2. Tis the season for critters to try & get in warm places. My husband every time I open the door to the garage yells at me to HURRY UP & CLOSE THE DOOR! :)
Good job getting everything moved into plastic containers. I need that in my pantry.

  3. Every once in awhile we find evidence of one in my apron drawer, but never anywhere else. We have set traps but never catch anything. Odd!!! If they ever got out and I saw it, I would be on the counter when hubby got home from work! Ewwww. Love the pantry, great job!

  5. We have lived here almost 27 years and (knock wood) we have never had an unwanted visitor....other than a lizard or two that the cats bring in. They are easy to grab and put back outside. Hope you are relaxing today!

  9. Ugh to the unwanted visitors. That creeps me out so I totally get needing to put everything in containers. Hope you have a fabulous week!

  11. So much for that nap, huh! Glad you got everything tucked away, out of their reach. We set up a whole trap line in late fall when the critters start looking for their winter residence, and caught a few, but nothing since. I wish the cat would see that as her responsibility but she seems to take napping and eating as her only responsibilities. Hope you got a nice break.

  15. Great minds think alike! I was cleaning out two upstairs closets. I gifted a bunch of (in excellent condition), rarely played with Little People (Fisher Price) to a family that has all boys and would really play with them. I transferred all the gift wrap stuff into a fancy container I found at The Container Store that would fit just right up on a closet shelf. (it's a walk in closet). Next up was Miss C's walk in closet which is kind of used for a few things at once. I ended up cleaning out three closets in all and boy did it feel good!

Hoping your upcoming weekend is a bit more peaceful!
