WHAT? NO RANDOM DOZEN?

What's a girl to do?  Linda needs a break, so I guess I'll take it easy on her.  I mean, I'm sure it's really hard to come up with 12 questions every week.  And, with it being summer vacation and all, I'll let it slide.

Okay, so, now what?  Hmmmm....OH. I KNOW!  I'm going to be completely random, but I don't know if it will be a dozen; more like a half-dozen.  Here's some random stuff  that's been going on around the house:

1.  One of my measuring cups:
If you don't have at least one of these, you must go get one.  My mom got a 1 cup and a 2 cup for us one Christmas.  We just kind of looked at each other, and my oldest sister said she thought mom had really lost it!  It turned out to be one of the best presents I've ever received!  No more squatting or bending over to read the numbers on the side of the cup!

2.  Hummingbirds...where are you?  We actually saw one a couple of days ago, but, as it was going toward the feeder, husband saw a bee hornet close to me, and he told me.  I looked down, shook my arm, but it didn't go away!  So, being a girl and all, I screamed and ran around the porch.  Needless to say, the bird flew away, and I haven't seen it back since.  Guess it wants to stay away from the crazy lady.

3.  I saw this reason for having clover in the yard:

Sorry for the poor quality and the moving of the camera!  Here's a still picture:
Again, sorry for the poor quality.  My camera does great...sometimes.  We used to see rabbits all the time in the yard:  we used to have a thicket in between our yard and the houses behind us.  But, someone bought the little rental houses, fixed them up, and tore down the thicket.  There is a bit of space in between both yards that actually belong to the city:  there used to be an alley there.  Anyway, we have an area in our yard that we don't do anything with:  it's full of honeysuckle and who knows what else.  That's where the baby bunny came out of.

4.  I made an 8 Minute Light & Fruity Pie:  It's a summer-time treat at our house.  So easy to make, and you can use sugar-free jello and fat-free or light cool whip:

5.  I got all of the plants in the ground!

I need to get some mulch to spread out so it will look nicer, but at least the plants are IN!  There's still a small patch of dying/dead weeds that I need to pull.
I also got really brave and planted a few flowers in my planter on the front porch.  I had been using fake flowers,  but decided to be really courageous!

6.  Tough decision:

Yep, another season of  "Hell's Kitchen" started last night!  Perfect summer reality show!  I know, I know...Gordon Ramsay can be quite the jerk, but the man knows what he's doing.  Hell's Kitchen won out since NCIS was a rerun.  What was the deal with the guy with the Hell's Kitchen tat?  I'm thinking he's really going to be ticked off when Gordon eventually tells him off.  If you watch the show, you know it's just a matter of time.  Does that guy not know?  That tat is permanent

Did anybody see "Real Housewives of New Jersey"  Monday night?  I fell asleep and missed the first 50 minutes.  Caught the rerun last night, though.  The last 10 minutes confirmed something I already knew:  Danielle is loco.  Not only that, but  she is definitely an attention hogger.

Last thing:  Karen over at Karen's Korner gave me an award!  I'm so happy to be getting to know Karen through blogging...she's a special person!  The award originated at Jeannie's Happy World.

  12. There always seems to be something on TV these days. Of course, with a man at the controls, we don't always see shows in their entirety. Thankfully, he is a Bachelorette and GLEE fan, so I do get to some shows, haha.

Nice job on the weightloss AND the gardening! :)

  17. Never seen a measuring cup like that before. The rabbit was cute. We get them around here once in awhile, not too often though, squirrels are much more popular.
