~ Somebody had his 17th birthday on Saturday.
~ Somebody spent the day at a band competition.
~ Somebody ditched his parents (who were waiting to take him out for his birthday dinner) and went to Sonic with his friends. (CH & I ended up jumping on the motorcycle and meeting friends for dinner.)
~ Somebody made up for it by choosing to go to Ginghas Grill yesterday for his dinner. (It was a great choice!)
I can't believe YS is already 17! He began life as a bouncing 10-pound baby boy and has grown into a 6'4" young man. We're extremely proud of the man he's becoming: He's caring, kind, considerate (most of the time), responsible, and handsome (if I do say so myself!). Now, about the "cleaning up his room" part...!!!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your boy! Hope he has a great year. It feels so good to look at them and like who they're becoming, doesn't it? Good job mom.
ReplyDeleteawww!!!! Happy birthday to YS!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to YS! Glad you eventually got to celebrate with him. Friends are pretty important at that age.
ReplyDeleteMy personal thoughts on this subject are that kids owe their MOTHERS presents on the anniversary of their births. Mothers, who put their lives on hold to gestate them, birth them, nurse them and rear them. Well, it's a thought at least. LOL

Awww...Happy Belated, and good job, Mama!
ReplyDeleteHe ditched you and you still bought him dinner the next night? What sweet parents. To be a mom is to be "left" -- they leave our bodies, they leave our breast, they leave our home for school and then they leave ... and cleave to the one God has chosen for them. And if we are paying very, very close attention, we see them being hesitant ... and we kick them in the butt to launch them anyway! Happy BD to YS!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday YS!
