1. Date night last Saturday. Last Christmas, CH got 2 free tickets plus a $10 gift certificate to the concessions at a movie theater in the big town. We held onto them because
I'm not a big Johnny Depp fan, but he's just the perfect person to play Jack Sparrow. We really enjoyed the movie, so we didn't feel that the tickets didn't were wasted.
2. A spur of the moment visit to one of our favorite places. I told CH that it was going to be crazy busy with it being Memorial Day Weekend, but knowing some backroads helped!

We saw some lazy things:Coconut Crab
Colorful things: Poison Dart Frogs
Weird things:
Leafy Sea Dragon
Weedy Sea Dragon
Japanese Spider Crab (the largest crab alive!)
Expected things:Seahorses
And the playful:
4. Ally finally getting her summer haircut:
It looks like she's not too happy about it, but she does feel much better!
5. Summer routines = afternoon naps! There's not many things much better than an afternoon nap.
Oh yes,a summer nap is very delightful. That was a cute tidbit about the penguin following the stuffed penguin. In March I was visiting friends in New Zealand and we went to a penguin reserve. They were so awesome to watch. I was wondering how the new Johnny Depp movie was. Maybe I'll get a chance to see it this weekend. How awesome to be treated to the movie and some snacks. Sounds like an ideal night out with your hunny. :)
ReplyDeleteT#3 and T#4 love, love, love penguins, so the story about the penguin following the stuffed penguin caught my attention - how sweet.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you on the summer nap!
Have a blessed weekend!
That sounds, and looks, like a pretty perfect week.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and your hubs had a terrific time together! I would have loved to see those adorable penguins.
ReplyDeleteWe had the same thing happen! Mr B had been given movie tickets by someone at work last year and they were tucked away safe and sound (where all things that are never ever to be seen again go) in his dresser junk drawer.
He found them this year and we went and saw Sanctum. (about the underwater cave divers who get stuck in a cave... gee, that one was hard to predict!!) Not exactly my idea of a great movie, but at least one of us liked it. LOL I'd have much rather seen Johnny Depp!
Have a great weekend, Mary!

Love Johnny Depp! Except for that Edward Scissorhands one- yuck. Tucker just got his summer haircut Wednesday- he's so much cooler now!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a coconut crab before. It looks scary and nasty. Ugh... sorry. I'm not good with critters. Your dogs look so cute. Glad you've had a wonderful week. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYea for a post that has penguins AND summer naps in it :).
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a fun week! Your photos were great - especially the jellyfish. So beautiful and graceful looking.
ReplyDeleteSo you like the latest Pirates movie? I've heard mixed reviews on it. And you're right...Johnny Depp is the only one in the world who could possible play Jack Sparrow!
I sure do agree with your #5! And your trip sounds liks SO much fun!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead.
Hubby and I went to see that movie last weekend with the same kind of *ahem* held onto tickets. But the line was so long and the movie was starting too quickly so we passed. Sounds like you enjoyed it though. We'll probably go back.
ReplyDeleteI love spur of the moment trips.
You are so right about Johhny Depp playing the part of Capt. Sparrow!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a good time!
that aquarium looked like a cool place to go! too cute with the little boy playing with the penguin with his penguin. I did hear that pirate movie was a good one, glad you got to see it before the passes expired! summer afternoon naps are very nice indeed!

I'm a penguin lover too - what a cute story! Mike & I NEVER go to the movies, but we'll be checking out the new pirate movie once it's out on DVD :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool aquarium photos! And I love the penguins! They're my favorite non-pet animal! Looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves!
ReplyDeleteI knew where you were without enlarging the picture! Fun place. Looks like you had a blast.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a date night - and a trip to the aquarium, too! We love visiting aquariums.
ReplyDeleteYour doggie looks so cute..

Nice things to be thankful for: excursions for fun, fresh haircuts (for whomever!), and time for naps. Have a good week!
