People are posting their temps on their blogs, so not wanting to be left out, here's ours:
Cooler than some, but 100? Really? This is the "Southeast": it's a "different kind of hot" than Arizona. We have humidity. As in 80% humidity. What is it with the "heat index values"? We know it's 100 degrees, do we have to know that it actually feels hotter than it is? And, after you reach 100, could it really feel any hotter? Why don't they tell us what the "heat index value" is in the middle of winter? Is there such a thing as heat index in the winter? There should be.
Let's just pray that the air conditioning holds up!
I wondered that too about the heat index - & is there humidity in winter?ReplyDelete
I'm keeping fingers, toes & anything I can cross, crossed, about the AC holding out.
I know! We've been even hotter. Of course we are in TX and we know it is coming but we used our free Six Flags tickets yesterday (they have a great reading program for k-6). David stayed home with the baby. I took the older four. They gave out free ice water (since you are not allowed to bring in your own food or drink). There is plenty of shade and misters so it was not intolerable. I made the kids get a free water after each ride. Stay cool! It is ice cream weather :)ReplyDelete
Today's high is forecast to be 108 ... and I'm in the St. Louis area! It hasn't been this hot in 58 years. Thank God for air conditioning!ReplyDelete
We get wind chill forecasts in the winter here. Like we need to know that it feels like -5 instead of +5.
I don't understand all that heat index stuff. I just know it's hot! However, I don't believe our forecast is quite as hot as yours. Stay cool!ReplyDelete
i hear ya... sometimes it feels so hot here in tx that you can't breathe. you know, like getting in the car when the temp reads 110. *sigh* we've often wondered who the 'feels like temperature' weather person is... ha!ReplyDelete
Not a fan of heat, and it's been Arizona hot here. The problem is, we could actually use some humidity right now to slow down the dang fires!ReplyDelete
Just getting caught up here -- been a few days! Back to the video -- it really spoke to me and I'm not Catholic. I keep reminding myself that we are just travelers here, it is not our home...but at the same time, our responsibility is to witness as to the Truth that God's Word speaks.ReplyDelete
As for the heat index -- you're right! 80 degrees humidity is just HAWT! Whew! Thank you God for AC!
I know with the humidity it is really difficult. It's like being in Florida! I definitely do enjoy our dry heat but even when we get over 100 it's horrible.ReplyDelete
It is hot and humid here too. No rain in a long time. The crops really need it. All our corn is tasseling and needs rain sooo badly! I am so grateful for A/C...I cannot imagine sleeping in this heat without it!ReplyDelete
It was 105 here yesterday and miserable. Being outside you could feel your skin sizzling. Today it was 101 at noon. The day is not even over.....griefus...this is June!ReplyDelete
Yup...it's hotter than Hades out there! Supposed to "only" reach 97 today!ReplyDelete
I have actually checked to see if there is a wind chill factor in the heat. One time it was 101' with a wind chill of 99.ReplyDelete
