Thank You Very Much

In Kmama's words:  "It's Free Therapy Day!! That's right, it's Thursday, which means it's the Thank You Very Much day. The way it works is that you take out all your frustrations on people/things that peeved you off during the week and thank them in a very sarcastic way, for being who or what they are/doing what they did."  Need to get something off of your chest?  Have at it!

1.  I absolutely love it when I'm driving on the interstate, and there's a car in the left lane who insists on going slower than the speed limit.  Especially when no one is in the right lane.  The rule of the road is:  stay right except to pass.  I'd love to have a scrolling marquee in the back window that would say something like, "Learn how to drive!"

2.  To the man in WalMart who wasn't happy with the electronics salesman:  Thanks for pouring your nasty dip spit on the computers.  Maybe if you hadn't taken your phone in for service before deleting the picture of the naked lady, you could've saved yourself some aggravation.  The man got upset because the associate saw the picture, then demanded that the phone be destroyed.  So, the associate took a hammer and smashed the phone, then gave him a replacement phone.  The guy left, then the cameras caught him coming in later with a bottle containing some brown substance, which he poured over the display computers.  Gotta love the rednecks here in E.Tn.  (The comment that someone left on that article:  "I guess no one was supposed to see his mama that way but him?")

3.  To the school system where I work:  It's July.  Not August.  It's 90+ degrees with high humidity.  And we're going to start school already?  It seems like it gets earlier and earlier every year.  I knew it was coming, yet I tried not to think about it, thinking that if I avoided it, it wouldn't happen.  Yes, I enjoy the week break during fall, but is it necessary to start this early, just so the high school kids can finish their semester at Christmas?  The elementary kids can't go on the playground because of the heat.  I doubt it will ever change!

Join us at Kmama's and get some things off your chest!

  1. Oh the driving slow in the fast lane is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to driving. In the UK people got tickets for that all the time.

You guys do start so early...it feels like the middle of summer still. I don't think they go back til Labor Day here which means they go into mid June. In MD we started toward the end of August and got out end of May-that's my favorite schedule.

  2. Starting school right now would stink! Sorry.

  3. I laughed at your first one, because my brother and I said that we're going to design a scrolling marquee that is reversed so that whomever is driving in front of you can read it in their rear view mirror. LOL

I can't believe anyone starts school that early! What does it matter if high school students finish the semester out BEFORE Christmas??? What does Christmas have to do with anything? We don't start until Tuesday, September 7. With summer starting later each year (typically) and going further into the "fall" time, you'd think they would want to push the start date back.

    Thanks for linking up!

  4. So sorry you guys are already back. It is SO hot here! When I was watching MW on the news this morning I heard heat indexes this weekend in the 105 range!!! Yikes. And here I am taking my family to GA to run a race! hahaha Smart move!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh and you know I'm LOLing at the redneck at Walmart. I had not heard about that!

  5. We were in until late June here in Northern VA, but we have to have August free because of all the people who leave town in August. Supposedly that schedule arose in pre-AC Washington when August was unbearably hot and muggy. Hello? AC?

And those drivers? Yep. They don't even have to be slower than the speed limit -- just slower than the traffic flow is enough to get everyone steamed. I noticed a lot of them when I was returning on I-81 in VA from Blacksburg. The left lane hogs tended to have New York and NJ license plates. I guess they thought that in 'rural' VA we wouldn't notice they were being selfish. Many of them were having very animated conversations on cell phones too. Hand held. YIKES.

    Walmart story -- there.are.no.words.

  7. Idiot drivers! They'll get ya everytime. I said that I wanted to have a scrolling sign in my window too so I could tell the idiot drivers where to go. But it might not be a good thing. lol!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Walmart experience too. But really? Dip on the computers? yuck. Hope the ac works and you lower the temp in the classroom while you're back at school. :(

  8. Regarding those slow drivers--I think we should all be allowed to carry paint ball guns and shoot anyone doing that. Then when you see a car coming that's covered in splats, you know they're idiots and don't expect much from them. Saves on the blood pressure meds! Sorry you're already going back to school.

  9. That is a seriously early start. And I'm thinking that the guy with the naked pic? He's probably lucky he wasn't turned in. If he's carrying it around I wonder what else was on the phone. I like Beverly's idea of the paintball guns. That'll fix em. (I'm following now).

  10. When people drive below the speed limit here, I jokingly say that they must be illegals. :) And #2? I'm just speechless.

  11. Oh no way! I need to just quit being shocked by Walmart stories! That blows me away!

And I'm cracking up that someone else wants a scrolling marquee for the back of their car too!!

I hope you have a great day!

  15. I would have loved to see the employee smash the phone with a Hammer. Does that mean I am predisposed to violence? Just wondering...R U saying that your school begins in JULY?? I agree with you - that's just "wrong"!!

  21. It is just WRONG to start school in July. The first week of August is too early, too! But July???? Noooooooo.
