Meet Me on Monday: 19th Edition

According to Java:
Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?"  I know them...but yet I don't know them!  I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!

Every Sunday I will post five get to know you questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post and we can all learn a little more about each and every one of us!!

This week's prompts:

1. Do you sleep with a night light on?
Most definitely.  Not only do I have to have some kind of light on, but I also have to have some kind of noise going on, too.  Chalk that up to growing up in a big, noisy household!

2. What do you drink with dinner?
Water or diet coke.  Every now and then maybe a glass of wine.

3. Do you play the lottery? If so, how often?

No, I don't play.  When we lived in Georgia (the year before we moved to SC) the girls I worked with would chip in a dollar and someone would go buy the tickets.  We never won anything.  Not a dime.

4. How often do you go to the grocery store?
I do my major shopping every 2 weeks.  Unless I'm really lazy and didn't make out my calendar of what we are going to have for dinner.  Then I end up going every 1-2 days and spending a lot more money than I should.

5. Would you rather travel back in time 500 years or travel forward 500 years?

Definitely back 500 years.  I'm afraid there won't be much left in 500 years.  Scary thought, isn't it?

  1. It is scary to think about what life would be like in 500 years.

  2. It's amazing to me how much I mess up my budget if I get off my 2 week grocery shopping schedule. Glad to know it's not just me. :)

  3. About fifteen years ago a friend of mine won 2 million dollars in the lottery. They had bought the ticket at a tiny little hole in the wall place in some itty bitty town in Maine. Very exciting! I never play.

    Happy Monday!

    See I didn't even mention the game : )

  4. Thank you for admitting you use a night light. I do, too--I'd just as soon not break a toe in the middle of the night! I take one on trips--for unfamiliar territory. And I totally get you on the noise thing. We're still running the window AC in our bedroom--not for the cool air (because we definitely don't need that), but for the racket it makes!

  5. I need silence to sleep ...and mostly darkness. I love wine every now and then, too. I just never have it in my house. (I prefer a margarita :)

  6. Oh dear, I need pitch black and silence to sleep... except for rain... I LOVE the sound of rain outside and can easily sleep when I hear it.

  7. Since I can't stand grocery shopping I try for every two weeks! We can always order out if we run out of food, ha!

    Have a great week!

  8. No lights or noise for us - it's a quiet dark room all the way (especially for The Man, I can sleep through just about anything).

I completely agree on the grocery store, more than 2 weeks and it just ends bad for the bank account.

Definitely back 500 years - agreed!

  9. Ohhh I like this. I sleep with a nightlight, as an adult I am afriad of the dark! I drink tea or water. Bought a lottery ticket years ago after I turned 18 but no I don't play. I also grocery shop every two weeks.

I would also travel back 500 years. The world we live in currently is very scary, I hate this for my kid. I hate teaching her this stuff at 2!

I love your funny quotes on the side!

  10. I think it would be fun to play the lottery like you did when you lived in the other state; I'm sure you guys talked about what you might do with your winnings, if you ever did win, of course

so true that there might not be anything left here in 500 years or even that we would want to be part of. that was an interesting question to consider I think.

    enjoy your Monday!

  11. We use a sound machine at night. I never make a list for dinner but I do take a list with items we need.
I want to go forward but your thought does scare me!

  12. When I was younger I always fell asleep to the radio so I could have sound, but sometimes I would wake up freaked out because a song incorporated itself into my dream. No joke. It was creepy. I was in an old church and when I parted a curtain a man in a robe was chanting then the chanting changed into Billy Joel's "For The Longest Time." Now...no sound and no light. :) Have a lovely week!

  13. We never have been able to do grocery shopping every 2 weeks. We eat so much fresh stuff that we have to go weekly and sometimes twice a week.
