Saturday Sampling

Mrs4444 is hosting a new meme:  Saturday Sampling.  There are so many good blogs out there that it's impossible to read every one every day, so this gives us a little wiggle room!  All you have to do is visit Half-Past Kissin' Time  , link up, and add the post from the past week or two that you feel is a "must read".  Then, visit the blogs that you missed this week so you can do a quick "catch-up".  Plus, it kind of gives us a day of rest!

The post I chose is "Role Models".  I got some good responses from this post...even one of my brothers said that after he read it, he brought it up at work and it turned out to be a hot topic.  Hope you enjoy!

  1. Well,I don't know how I missed this post last week????
    Great job Mary.
I agree with you on the pro's...a good portion of them should be embarassed at how they behave. They are not good role models at all.

My daughter does play softball year round...but she is so passionate about it. It does not drain me, because my husband is just as passionate about it (not just her playing, but coaching lots of kids) She hopes to go on and play in college, but knows it will end there. She also knows that SCHOOL is more important than sports...so she will choose a college that she loves whether she gets to play or not. I think we have done a good job of focussing on the impportant stuff too.

Ok, that is the longest comment ever!!!!

    happy saturday!!!

  6. SOOOO RIGHT!!!

These athletes egos and salaries are way out of control. Have you heard some of the top-paid football players give interviews? It's embarrassing! And some of them are being arrested right and left for everything under the sun.

Thank goodness my children weren't much into sports, and I don't recall them having any "idols" at all. Although I do remember my son's best friend worshipping Hulk Hogan.

Heading over to Half-Past Kissin' Time right now!
