Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Time for Friday Fragments!  YAY!
~ My kids were so funny yesterday.  I asked a couple of Kindergarteners if they knew what day it was.  One of them said, "Thursday", and I proceeded to give them hints.  One of them said, "It's the 'beaber' day!"  I asked him if he meant "groundhog", and he said yes.  (You know where this is going, right?)   There was some mention of Justin Bieber after that, and one of them said "You call the groundhog Justin Bieber!"  Move over, Punxsutawney Phil!

~  Another one of my students told me she had eaten all of her "Waviloli" (ravioli).  I looked at her teacher, who responded with "job security"!

~  My "Birthday Bandit" struck again!  To recap:  Next month I will be having a BIG birthday.  Last month, I received (in the mail) a birthday card with a $15 Starbucks gift card.  The card wasn't signed, and my address was in the return address.  A couple of days ago, I got another card announcing my upcoming birthday, but this time there was a $20 Pizza Hut gift card!  The writing was a little different, but I still think I "may" know who it is.  Can't wait to see what the "finale" is!

~ I changed my e-mail back to what it was before last weekend.  It was too much trouble having to check another e-mail!  That was short-lived, huh?

~ This one is for CH:  Yesterday I wore my Burberry Weekend perfume.  CH said that it smelled good, and asked if it was my "Weekend at Bernie's" perfume.  Huh.

~  Last day of bus duty until April!  Can I get a "woot-woot"?

  1. I have 3 emails to keep track of ... thankfully I use MS Outlook for email and it just dumps all 3 email accounts into my inbox, as does my iPhone. Whew! I'd hate to have to check 3 different places! ;-)

What fun - getting little gifts in anticipation of your BIG birthday coming up - I can't wait to see what the finale is either.

  3. "Waviloli" - love it!

My favorite mispronounced word was "nanana" (banana)...I just couldn't ever bring myself to correct it. (Though I did teach kids under 5, so mostly still OK).

Fun surprised from the Birthday Bandit!!

I have about 4 email addresses, but I use my main email to check them all...so I don't have to remember to do it. You can even set Gmail to be able to send from different accounts if needed.

  8. Where can I get one of those kind of bandits? I just get the kind that steal the candy from my desk and my stapler.

  14. swapping email addresses is about as bad as moving a blog. yucky!! truly.

beaber day, huh?? my kids wanted to know why a large rodent got to decide if we would have more winter or not. i really had no answer there, but we did enjoy researching how that all started.

i like the job security comment. very cute!! i miss those little things when my kids move past a speech impediment.

  16. Love the idea of the unsigned birthday series of gifts! For my 70th birthday a friend gave me handmade gift certificates--lunch at a restaurant of my choice, a ride when I was stuck for transportation, a hot fudge sunday at the Charcoal Pit (a local restaurant. For her 70th I also gave her hand made gift certificates--to be redeemed for original poems for any occasion for which she might want to use them.
