Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

~ I usually do "Meatless Fridays" on Fridays during Lent, but I'm honestly not feeling it this year.  Don't know why...I'm just not.

We I had a near disaster with the gerbils the other day:  I put Tige in his ball but left the door open.  Next thing I knew, Eli was out of the cage and Tige was rolling around on the floor (in the ball).  But, Eli was pretty much confined to the area around the cages, but I couldn't catch him.  So, I yelled for CH, who came in and caught him, but in the meantime the YS' door was open and Pepper was very interested in Tige.  She was nosing the ball around; I'm surprise Tige didn't have a heart attack.  It did look like Eli was trying to get back in the cage but couldn't figure out how to do it.  With Eli safely at home, I put Tige back in with him.  WHEW!

~  70 Degrees yesterday!  Man, oh MAN!  The sky was beautiful!  We're bracing for a high of 45 on Saturday.

~ 2 more weeks 'til Spring Break!  YAY!!!  Summer will be here before you know it!

  1. Wow, what a close call! Whew!

It almost got to 70 here - 68 I think was the high. It's definitely not going to be that warm today - 44 today and 42 tomorrow. It'll definitely feel like winter after such warm weather!

I don't know if I'm quite ready for summer yet, but I am ready for spring! ;-)

  2. Glad it was only a near disaster!

70 degrees!! Wow! Extremely jealous here. We've been mild, but I've been getting excited at upper 40's, 70 is fabulous.

I'm sorry about the Lent struggle. I definitely understand though.

  8. I really enjoyed reading your fragments this morning, Mary! I can't help but think that we definitely have different perspectives on the weather. This past week we have had temps in the 40's and everyone I know has spring fever. I even drove home from work on Wednesday with my back windows partially rolled down. haha 4+ inches of snow on the ground overnight last night made me think I was getting ahead of myself looking for spring anytime soon. :)
